A New Design Mindset

Months ago I fell in love. In love with a total new way of web design. Minimalism.

Taking action.

After taking a leap from the “shallow” end of web design to trying and find my feet in minimalism design, I decided to take lessons in Drupal Theming. Armed with Front-end Drupal I ventured forth into unfamiliar territory.

Loving Drupal, more.

In all the time i've worked with Drupal, I always had an uneasy feeling when faced with a problem needing a more custom solution than what's available in the community. Without a good understanding of the best practices around Drupal, its easy to jump ship to Joomla! where the road has less bumps. This of course I am saying based on my own experience.

With a better understanding of Drupal's inner workings, I felt a little more prepared to start designing this website using a style that best shows my ideas.

Discovering taste.

I did a lot of research on the web looking at different websites and noting down the little things I loved about them. Among the sites that caught my attention, the following left an imprint on my mind:

Aentan
Astheria
Cademartin
hellostefan

Where I stand now.

The idea of open designing appealed to me more than the alternative of promising launch dates that drift away with time. It has become my chosen path now.

Interested in seeing the end result, buckle up for the ride! If you have any ideas, suggestions or comments, please leave a comment below.
